Using prayer, conversation, and listening sessions throughout the state of Wyoming, the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities of Wyoming identified four areas of work, not being addressed by local communities.
These four priorities are framed through our Catholic faith, our Catholic social and moral teaching Traditions.
Each of the four priorities were developed and framed through the methodology of see, judge, and act.

The committee will assess how Catholic Charities of Wyoming (CCW) can offer supplemental support and training to those parishes that already offer elder care assistance and develop aids to help parishes, while not repeating efforts or ministries.
The committee shall help identify pending legislation that will impact the elderly in Wyoming, and advocate on behalf of the elderly community’s interest, in light of the common good.
The committee shall assist the CCW Board of Directors to identify effective approaches to help keep elderly citizens in their homes and encourage parish’ ministers to connect with local EMS services and first responders.
We affirm the God-given dignity of every human being including immigrants and refugees regardless of status. We affirm this work as righteous. We are called by the Gospel to assist immigrants and refugees, regardless of their documentation status.
Recognizing the lack of information and the disinformation spread by various sources, we commit ourselves to educate citizens to galvanize advocacy in hopes of appropriate legislative action. Given the lack of such services in the State of Wyoming and given the significant number of persons impacted by such issues (many of whom are part of our faith community), CCW should make the provision of such services and advocacy a central part of its mission.
• A telephone ‘hotline’ for information and guidance.
• Legal referrals to navigate the immigration system.
• Sponsor consulate visits.
• Locate legal representation in deportation proceedings.
• Provide “Know Your Rights” resources and trainings.
• Evaluate sanctuary possibilities.
• Support advocacy efforts at city, state, and national levels.
• Support the establishment of the Refugee Resettlement Program.
The Affordable Housing Committee (AHC) shall assist the Catholic Charities of Wyoming (CCW) Board of Directors in identifying the current housing shortage, by regions, in the State of Wyoming. Possible ranking of need by area may be necessary to decide on priority.
The AHC will work with the CCW to identify viable solutions to the housing shortage. Collaboration will be needed with community leaders to find options to acquire additional land and or buildings to accommodate the housing shortage. The Committee should identify ways to educate State Legislators, County Commissioners, and City Officials of the need for affordably priced parcels to be used for such housing. Information collected on the adverse effects will be helpful in this education.
