Catholic Charities of Wyoming retains all records of all adoptions finalized from 1962-2020. To gain access to an adoption record you must meet the following criteria: The adoptee must be 18 years old or older and you must be a biological parent, grandparent, sibling, or adoptive parent.
Once those criteria are met, an affidavit needs to be filed with the district court in the state of Wyoming. The court will appoint a Confidential Intermediary to your case to access the adoption record. Confidential Intermediaries (CI's) work for the adoptee and their biological family in hopes of reconnecting the family members or collecting important medical histories. CI's are trained volunteers and are given special access to adoption records.
