Catholic Charities of Wyoming was a licensed non-profit adoption agency created in 1964 which served families of all faiths throughout the state of Wyoming until 2020.

In 2009, Catholic Charities of Wyoming partnered with St. Joseph's Children's Home, a psychiatric residential treatment facility serving children ages 6-18. Thanks to this partnership, Catholic Charities of Wyoming is also proud to offer aftercare services and foster care services to families in the state of Wyoming.

One more function of Catholic Charities of Wyoming is serving as the Diocesan liaison for two affordable housing facilities for low income elderly.

Accessing Adoption Records
Catholic Charities of Wyoming retains all records of all adoptions finalized from 1962-2020.  To gain access to an adoption record you must meet the following criteria: The adoptee must be 18 years old or older and you must be a biological parent, grandparent, sibling, or adoptive parent.  Once those criteria are met, an affidavit needs to be filed with the district court in the state of Wyoming.  The court will appoint a Confidential Intermediary to your case to access the adoption record.  Confidential Intermediaries (CI's) work for the adoptee and their biological family in hopes of reconnecting the family members or collecting important medical histories.  CI's are trained volunteers and are given special access to adoption records.  You can learn more about the program and access petitions by visiting https://dfs.wyo.gov/services/child-youth-services. If you have questions, please call us at 307-637-0554.

NEW Services:
Beginning June 5, 2018, Catholic Charities of Wyoming will be facilitating a group for relative and non-relative primary caregivers of children to learn about legal, educational, disability and financial resources.  The group will provide psycho-education on parenting, generational norms, mental illness, disabilities, role changes and navigating changing relationships.  Receive support from others in similar situations while building upon your family's strengths and overcoming challenges.  Licensed therapists facilitate the group with assistance from guest speakers on various topics.
